NATURE TRAIL HIGHLIGHTS

🌸 Cherry Blossom Avenue

Begin your visit by driving through an avenue of twenty beautiful cherry blossom trees, creating a spectacular welcome to Bowbrook throughout the spring.

🚶 1km Accessible Stone Path

A well-maintained stone pathway provides easy access around almost the entire nature reserve, making the walk suitable for visitors of all ages.

🌄 Cotswold & Bredon Hill Views

At the main junction, take a moment to enjoy uninterrupted views across the countryside towards Bredon Hill and the Cotswold Hills before continuing towards the orchard.

🍎 Orchard

Planted in 2022, the orchard is home to more than 200 fruit trees. Wander through rows of dessert apples, pears, plums, gages and damsons as the orchard continues to mature.

🌿 Enchanted Arch

Passing beneath the Enchanted Arch reveals one of Bowbrook's most picturesque scenes, opening onto the meadow, brook and lakes beyond.

💧 Small Lake

Just beyond the arch lies the peaceful Small Lake, a tranquil spot that marks the beginning of the lakeside walk.

🌊 Bow Brook

Flowing for over 500 metres along the edge of the reserve, Bow Brook provides an important habitat for wildlife and forms the heart of the nature trail.

🧺 Picnic Area 1

The first picnic area offers benches with lovely views across the reserve, making it an ideal place to stop and relax.

👀 Viewing Platform

A raised wooden platform overlooks the lakes and backwaters. Relax on the covered swinging bench while watching wildlife across the water.

🗿 Three Ladies Sculpture

Standing over seven feet tall, the striking steel sculpture of the Three Ladies provides one of Bowbrook's most memorable landmarks.

🐟 Backwater 1

This quiet backwater offers fish a sheltered resting place away from the main flow of the brook, creating an important wildlife habitat.

🐦 Bird Hide

Hidden beside the path below the solar panels, the bird hide provides a peaceful place to observe birds, the brook, the large lake and surrounding meadow without disturbing wildlife.

🦢 Large Lake

The largest body of water on the reserve is home to a wide variety of fish, along with resident swans, geese and many visiting water birds.

🌉 Causeway

A charming causeway crosses the large lake, providing access towards the second island and offering wonderful views in every direction.

🧱 Historic Brick Bridge

This attractive old brick bridge spans Bow Brook and adds a touch of local history to the nature reserve.

🌼 Wildflower Meadow

Stretching across approximately five acres beside Bow Brook, the meadow provides valuable habitat for butterflies, birds and the resident roe deer.

🦌 Field Below the Lodges

This open field is one of the best places to spot wildlife, with roe deer regularly seen grazing during the early morning, along with the occasional fox.

🧺 Picnic Area 2

A second picnic area provides another peaceful stop overlooking the brook and nearby willow tree.

🦦 Backwater 2

Located near the entrance to the meadow, this sheltered backwater is rich in fish and has twice been the location of otter sightings.

🌳 Willow Tree Picnic Area

Nestled beneath a magnificent mature willow tree, the final picnic area sits beside the brook, offering shade and one of the most relaxing viewpoints on the reserve.

🌲 Young Woodland

Planted in 2023, this developing woodland contains more than 3,000 young trees and will become an important habitat for wildlife for generations to come.
